The video circulated in the WhatsApp group with a duration of 22 seconds.
The video shows a blue and white bus speeding.
Two buses were seen chasing each other on the street.
When asked for confirmation, the Head of the Rembang Police, AKBP Dandy Ario Yustiawan, admitted that he would investigate the news that the viral bus was reckless on Jalan Pantura Rembang.
The police will check CCTV along the Pantura Rembang, precisely in Pasar Banggi Village, Kota District.
“We will trace it again, if there is information related to the previous route where there was an accident, we will investigate it, including maybe from several CCTVs that we checked again,” Dandy said when met at the location, Friday (10/3/2023).
Dandy explained from the provisional statement that the accident was caused by a bus traveling from the west overtaking the truck in front of it.
But unlucky in front of him there was a truck that was going in the opposite direction.
“Temporary descriptions and witness statements, processing of the temporary crime scene where the bus passenger vehicle was wrong because it took the right lane, did not take into account the front,” he explained.
It should be noted that four people died and 16 people were injured in this incident.
Police are still collecting data on victims of the accident.
