[NEWS] 2BABA URGES POLICE TO RELEASE ICE PRINCE

Legendary Nigerian artist Innocent Idibia, also known as 2baba, has asked for Ice Prince’s release from the police jail.

On Friday, September 2, 2022, Ice Prince was taken into custody for operating a vehicle without a license plate.

When the rapper was stopped, he agreed to be brought to the police station, but instead kidnapped the officer, beat him up, and threatened to throw him off a cliff into a river, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command.

However, 2baba expressed his displeasure at his colleague’s release on social media. Has being a young person in this nation become a crime, @Nigerianpolice? Every demonstration and conflict is an effort to improve your tools, pay, and retirement benefits. #FREEICEPRINCE.” (sic)

Ice Prince was accused by law authorities on Friday of three offenses that nearly amounted to assault, obstructing, and kidnapping a police officer. The rapper has entered a not guilty plea to each charge.

The rapper was also given N500,000 in bail by Taiwo Oyaniyi, the magistrate in charge of his case, who also mandated that he remain in Ikoyi prison till his bail conditions were met.
